The first entry in an experimental series of mods we're currently planning on making. It took a while to get right, but at least we can release it within the last breath of summer. So while summer might almost be over, we're going to have one last hoorah by celebrating with something brand new. Named after the Cascada song, Summer of Love, welcome to the Doki Doki Summer of Love Chronicles: Volume 1.

In the same vein as Doki Doki Carpe Diem: Somnium, we're taking a look at three different short stories that each focus on a different girl that center around the idea of a summer romance. For the first entry, we give the spotlight to Kiyomi Sato (an OC I've been wanting to write about forever), Momoko Takahama (one of Team Traitor's newest OCs), and the lovable cinnamon bun Sayori.

As some bit of developer commentary, I've been wanting to write a story about Kiyomi forever, but wasn't sure how to. I figured this would be a logical way to start and get a feel for how her character will work. She's written in the same spirit as I would have written one of our cancelled OCs, Megan, who was meant to be this bubbly, friendly, sweet blue-eyed blonde (who has a habit of talking a bit like a valley girl).

Momoko is going to be a woman that lives different lives. In some cases, she's a mega-bitch with no chances of redemption. In other cases like here, she's basically a mega-bitch only to hide the fact she's enough of a tsundere to give Natsuki a run for her money. As for her habit of adding "you know" at the end of every other sentence, you can thank the anime Wedding Peach for that one. Momoko herself is based on three different girls I knew in high school, two of which sort of made my life harder.

Sayori is written in tribute to one of my best friends who was like my Sayori. Someone cheerful and like a ray of sunshine who dealt with depression. Meanwhile the friendship dynamic draws from another of my best friends I kind of had during high school.

An introduction to my OC girl, Akane, in her first solo outing. The story opens with Akane waking up on November 15, just to realize it's her birthday. Upon getting excited, though, she goes through the day and it seems that her friends in the Literature Club are kind of avoiding her. At least, that's what she feels, initially.

Released back in April 2023. This mod was written by me, coded by Mr.Rocketman909, Frikpulpo, and NightmareNinja for the first time. This was also the last mod to be coded by Rocketman before he left the team leaving to pursue "bigger and better things," as he put it to me.

Akane is a special character to me in the sense that not only was she the first DDLC OC that I ever came up with (outside of Megan, who never happened), but she was also partly dedicated to a girl who meant a lot to me that passed away in 2022. Half of Akane's personality came from her, the other half comes from me, in a sense. She has also become the defacto face of Team Traitor and my YouTube channel mascot.
